  • Adam Carter, LEAD Pastor

    Adam became Senior Pastor on May 31, 2015, after completing a one-year Pastoral Residency at Wornall Road Baptist Church through the North American Mission Board. He received his Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Ministries from Maranatha Baptist University. After completing his B.A., Adam served as Minister to Students for a church in Birmingham, Alabama, for four years. He continues to have a heart for students and people of all ages and desires to help connect people with the heart of God.

     
    Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, Marilane, his two sons, Isaac and Seth and his daughter, Anna. 
  • Jason Franklin, Worship Pastor

    Jason joined the Leawood Baptist Church family in September of 2017. He earned is B.A. in Fine Arts Ministry from California Baptist University and his M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Biola University. Jason and his family served churches in California, Nebraska, and Colorado before joining us in the Kansas City area.

  • Daniel So, Student ministry leader

    Daniel began his part-time position at LBC on August 30, 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and is currently employed full-time as an electrical drafting technician at Burns & McDonnell Engineers. He has a love for music, singing, playing guitar and ukulele; and for educating youth, as evidenced by his involvement with Youth Ministry at First Baptist Church in Warrensburg for nearly ten years. 

  • Mike Fitzgerald, Student Ministry Leader

    Michael is interning with Leawood through the Timothy Track program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He comes to Kansas City from the Birmingham, AL area with a bachelor's degree in Bible and Theology and an emphasis on Pastoral Ministries from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham. He has worked with several churches in the Birmingham area, in a variety of roles.


    Mike is pursuing a Master's in Divinity degree from Midwestern, and lives in an apartment on campus. He is exceptionally geeky, with a particular focus on comic books and movies/shows based on them.

  • Jamie Sink, Director of Weekday Education

    Jamie began her duties as LBC's Preschool & Parents Day Out director in August 2013, bringing with her years of expertise as a preschool teacher in a Christian environment.  Jamie has been instrumental in creating and maintaining a wonderful learning atmosphere for God's children.

    A graduate of Kansas State University, Jamie lives in Shawnee with her husband, Jon, to whom she's been married since 2003.  They have two children, Jayden and Jonah, two dogs, two cats, and a frog.

  • Linda Keller, Volunteer Financial Secretary


    Linda has volunteered in LBC's Finance Department for many years and is currently serving on the Finance & Stewardship Committee.  She brings with her years of experience as an Engineering Administrative Assistant with Massman Construction in Kansas City, Mo.

    She has been a member of LBC since 1991.

  • Roxanne Adrian, Instrumentalist

    Roxanne began her position as a pianist at LBC in October 2007.  Her musical talents at LBC now additionally encompass the Organ and Clavinova.  She attended Baptist Bible College and Southwestern Missouri State University in Springfield, where she received her Master's Degree in Music Education with Honor Diploma for Piano.  For 10 years, she taught in the music department at Baptist Bible College.  Following that, she was on staff of Liberty Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, for 15 years.

    Roxanne became a church musician at the early age of 11.  In 2005, she began recording her piano hymn arrangements, produced three CDs, and has also played numerous concerts in churches.  She teaches piano and music classes both in and outside of her home in the Kansas City area.

  • Sheryl Shankles, Administrative Assistant

    Sheryl and her husband, Gary, lived in North Carolina for most of their married life. They have two grown sons, one of which still lives there with his family. They moved to Kansas City from Utah, where they sought to minister to former Mormons in the area. Sheryl is very glad to be serving God together with us.
